About Kuishi Smart
Kuishi Smart, a Canadian non-profit organization, offers an innovative, sustainable and patient-centred response to chronic disease. Its name, meaning Live Smart in Swahili, reflects its vision of a world where everyone eats healthy, lives well and fulfills their potential.

Our story
Our story begins with a conviction: no family should be left alone to face the nutritional challenges of illness.
The Democratic Republic of the Congo is where the journey of our founder, Bakadi Patient BEYA, began. After his initial training in nutrition and dietetics in the DRC, he continued his professional development in Canada, including at Toronto Metropolitan University. His experience in clinical and humanitarian health convinced him that quality expertise should be accessible without forcing families to leave their country.
This conviction became deeply personal when he supported his seriously ill brother. Faced with the limits of the nutrition support available in Kinshasa, he arranged for him to travel for specialized care. Despite the progression of the disease, nutrition care helped improve his energy, mobility and comfort. His family was able to share more time with him.
One question remains: how many families in the DRC can afford to seek this care elsewhere? Kuishi Smart wants to bring skills and services closer to communities.
« Kuishi Smart is not just an organization; it is a human and scientific response to the urgency of non-communicable diseases. Making health a right, not a privilege. »
Mission
To improve health and quality of life through accessible, integrated dietetic care, the prevention of non-communicable diseases and capacity building for health professionals.

Acting on the risk factors we can change
We aim to build healthier, more resilient communities by promoting wellness and preventing non-communicable diseases through evidence-based health promotion and lifestyle interventions. We work to reduce individual and community exposure to the most common modifiable risk factors, while empowering people to take control of their health and manage chronic conditions with knowledge, dignity and hope.

- then
they will be better able to prevent and manage non-communicable diseases, reduce complications and improve their quality of life,

will strengthen health systems and reduce the costs of hospitalizations and premature deaths.
